The agent and father of Andreas Christensen has indicated that the Dane may have to pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere, should he continue to struggle for gametime with Chelsea.

Christensen made his breakthrough with the Blues during the previous campaign where he managed 40 appearances across all competitions, but he has failed to secure a similar role under Maurizio Sarri this term.

So far, the central defender has managed just three starts with none of those coming in the English top-flight and his representative has now suggested that the 22-year-old may have to seek a permanent exit, should the situation fail to improve.

"If his situation doesn't change by Christmas, we'll have a chat with Chelsea and say, 'okay, what can we do for him? Could he play somewhere else? I'm not thinking another loan. It's Chelsea or else he has to find another club," Sten Christensen told TV3 Sport Denmark.

Sarri has resorted to starting with only Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz for the central defensive duties in the Premier League this term while Gary Cahill has made the occasional appearance off the bench when an injury situation has come about.
