Liverpool boss reacts after late win over Fulham
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight after the Reds managed to secure a 2-1 triumph over Fulham in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Reds required a victory to leapfrog Manchester City to the top of the standings but they managed to do so in the hard way with the Cottagers putting in a strong defensive display.
Sadio Mane scored his 11th goal in as many games to provide the Reds with a deserved first half lead but the advantage was chalked off in the 74th minute with Ryan Babel pouncing on a rare defensive error from the Reds.
Thereafter, the Reds took the lead once more through James Milner's penalty in the 81st minute and that remained the outcome for the remainder of the game.
Speaking after the clash, Klopp stressed that the Reds want to remain in the title race and they managed to do so by bagging the three points in the end, he told Sky Sports:
"We want to stay in the race. That's what we did. (First is) the best position you can be in. City don't look as if they drop a lot of points, so we have to win, to win and to win."
With the victory, Liverpool have jumped to the top of the table ahead of Manchester City with a two-point advantage but Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand after missing the weekend fixture due to FA Cup duty.
