Arsenal plan to beat Napoli to French midfielder
Arsenal are reportedly planning to hijack Napoli's move to sign midfielder Jordan Veretout from Fiorentina this summer.
The Frenchman experienced forgettable spell with Aston Villa few years ago, but he has managed to redeem himself during his short time in Florence.
According to Sport Italia, Veretout could be offered a fresh chance to impress in the Premier League with the Gunners making a late approach for his services.
Veretout has been fancied to make the move to Naples in the past few weeks but it appears that the Gunners have sought to hijack the move with a late £20m approach.
The north London side are expected to pursue a new box-to-box midfielder this summer after opting to release Aaron Ramsey at the end of his contract this month.
Veretout has experienced an impressive couple of seasons with La Viola and he has contributed 15 goals and eight assists for the side from just 75 appearances in all competitions.
