Divock Origi explains reasons for staying with Liverpool

Liverpool hero Divock Origi has explained the reasons why he has decided to stay with the Anfield side, despite a percieved lack of first-team opportunity. Origi helped his club to the Champions League title, with crucial goals against Tottenham in the final and an important brace against Barcelona in the semi-final.

With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all ahead of him in the pecking order for Jurgen Klopp's side, many expected that the former Lille striker Origi would quit the club for pastures new.

However, Origi has recently signed a new contract and today explained the reasons why he has chosen to stay with his club: "I just sat down and I felt like I wanted to stay and help this team. 

I felt good, I just had to keep performing in training and I knew my chance would come. I felt like we could do something special.

"I just had to block everything out on the outside and focus on the right things. In football you never know 100 percent, it could have gone another way as well but that's the choice I made."
