Liverpool attacker ready to start against Chelsea
Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane is looking forward to starting the European Super Cup clash against Chelsea following his cameo appearance in the season opener.
The Senegal international returned to the Reds' training base after a 16-day break last week and he thereafter made a late cameo in the club's 4-1 league win over Norwich City.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday's Super Cup clash, Mane said that he is ready to tackle Chelsea from the off irrespective of the mental stress after the summer exploits with Senegal at the African Cup of Nations.
"Yes, I think I'm ready [to start] .Tiredness, I think, is here [pointing to his head] – for sure. I'm used to it and, for sure, I'm ready. I'm here, so let's do it," he told Liverpool's official website.
Divock Origi has been Jurgen Klopp's preferred choice to partner Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in the attack in recent games but the Belgian could be dropped to the bench to facilitate Mane's return to the first XI.
