MLS club make contact with Olivier Giroud
Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Olivier Giroud as they seek to lure the Chelsea striker to the United States.
The France international has struggled for regular gametime with the Blues this term with manager Frank Lampard preferring Tammy Abraham as the first-choice striker.
Moreover, he has recently witnessed Michy Batshuayi preferred ahead of him off the bench and it appears that the 33-year-old is seriously considering his future with the club.
According to Fox Sports, the former Arsenal man has been contacted by the Whitecaps over a move to the MLS next year but he does not seem keen on joining them.
Giroud has previously indicated that he would be tempted by a challenge in the United States but he is said to hold the preference to move to either New York or Los Angeles.
The 2020 MLS season won't start until the beginning of March and Giroud has plenty of time on his hands to decide on his future. The striker is currently on international duty.
