Lacazette heaps praise on Guendouzi

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has heaped praise on compatriot and teammate Matteo Guendouzi and believes the midfielder has the credentials to be the best in his position.

The 20-year-old has been ever-present for the Gunners in the Premier League this term and he has already come up with a few standout displays which have earned him plaudits from the fans.

Speaking to the club's official website, Lacazette spoke about the progress made by the former Lorient graduate and appreciated the Frenchman's desire to demand the ball like every top midfielder.

"We can see that every top midfielder in the world is like this [in terms of demanding the ball and being brave]. They all want to take the ball," he told Arsenal.com.

Lacazette added that Guendouzi wants to be the best in his position and he has recently proved his worth with a string of top notch performances in the Premier League.

"Matteo has a good ambition, he wants to be one of the best players in his position so every day he is trying to be the best and this month he showed that he can be,” he added.

Guendouzi's progress has already earned him a call-up to the France senior squad during the last international break but he could not make his debut under Didier Deschamps.

Still, he can take the positives from the selection and needs to work in the coming months such that he can push for a squad berth ahead of the Euros next summer.
