Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma had admitted that teammate Olivier Giroud is far from pleased with his present situation at the west London side.

Giroud was touted to cement his spot as the first-choice striker under Frank Lampard this term but that has certainly not been the case over the past few months.

Tammy Abraham has excelled leading the line with 10 goals already in the Premier League and he has been effectively supported by Michy Batshuayi off the bench.

As such, Giroud has found himself as an unused substitute on most occasions this season and Zouma admits that his compatriot is frustrated by the situation.

"He is frustrated, he wants to play more. Like any football player, he wants to be on the pitch, but he is taking everything very calmly. He is a professional, he works hard in training. I have a lot of respect for the player he is," he told Le 10 Sport.

Despite his limited gametime, Giroud has continued to remain a key player in the French national team and he recently bagged the winner in the 2-1 win over Romania. He has netted four times in his previous five caps for Les Bleus.
