Frank Lampard reacts after Chelsea's defeat at Everton
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has acknowledged that the defending was very poor from the Blues during the 3-1 Premier League defeat to Everton on Saturday.
The Blues went behind after just five minutes on the clock after Richarlison beat Andreas Christensen in the air for his header.
Shortly after the break, Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the advantage for the Toffees but Mateo Kovacic gave the Blues a lifeline with another fine low shot past Jordan Pickford.
However, they could not manage the comeback in Merseyside as a combined mistake from Kepa Arrizabalaga and Kurt Zouma saw Calvert-Lewin bag his second goal in the 84th minute.
Speaking after the game, Lampard has admitted that the goals conceded were sloppy to concede and said that his team lacked the physicality in crucial stages of the game.
"Yeah. All the goals I think. The other two were really poor. We looked like we were getting back into the game, we can’t give away games like that. We weren’t physical enough at times," he told via Football.London.
Chelsea remain in the fourth position with 29 points on the board but their six-point advantage for the final Champions League spot could reduce with the games in hand for the other teams.
