Barcelona make audacious €80m offer for Ligue 1 striker
Barcelona have submitted an audacious bid worth €80 million for AS Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder, according to Goal.com.
The report also adds that Barca had the offer negated by the Ligue 1 side for their star striker.
The Catalans’ interest in the Frenchman comes as a total surprise given their mammoth task to find a replacement for Luis Suarez in the current transfer window.
Ben Yedder has been stupendous since his switch from Sevilla in the summer, racking up 14 goals and 4 assists in Ligue 1. He also tops the list for the number of goals scored in the league ahead of Kylian Mbappe.
On the other hand, Barca have been speeding up their search for a striker and names like Rodrigo, Olivier Giroud and Lautaro Martinez have emerged on the wishlist.
New manager Quique Setien’s start to his managerial reign with Blaugrana hasn't been good since his side suffered a defeat against Valencia on Saturday. The lack of a proper No.9 in the game turned out to be one of the reasons that cost them the game.
