Bayern eye late swoop for Arsenal target Thomas Lemar
Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the transfer race for out-of-favour Atletico Madrid star Thomas Lemar, according to France Football.
The 24-year-old turns out to be a prime target for Premier League club Arsenal, whilst being chased by their North London rivals Tottenham.
Having missed out on signing the Frenchman 18 months ago, Bayern are now looking to revive their interest after a long time.
However, it is reported that Bavarians are hesitating a bit about Lemar’s €60m price tag quoted by Atletico.
This transfer interest also marks Bayern’s liking for the French players, while already having Kingsley Coman, Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard and Corentin Tolisso in the squad.
Lemar hasn’t made any significant impact in La Liga following his switch from Monaco in 2018. In this season, he hasn’t been a regular fixture under Simeone, registering neither a goal nor an assist in 15 outings. His contract with the Rojiblancos runs until 2023.
Bavarians are currently second in the Bundesliga table, trailing RB Leipzig by a point.
