Arsenal to offload three defenders this summer

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly prepared to offload the central defensive trio of Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding when the transfer window reopens.

The Gunners have been hampered financially by the coronavirus pandemic and there are reports suggesting that they may not have any funds to spend on new signings.

Amidst this, The Athletic reports that Arteta is planning to reshuffle his defence and he could be prepared to offload Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding this summer.

The departure of the trio would cut around £207,000-a-week off the club's wage bill and also raise funds for the arrival of new players during the summer transfer window.

Pablo Mari is expected to be signed on a permanent basis from Flamengo and it is claimed that he would continue to partner David Luiz in the central defence next term.

William Saliba has been widely touted to make his mark on his loan return from Saint-Etienne but he may have to initially settle for a role off the bench for the Gunners.
