West Ham United are reportedly weighing up an approach for Manchester United duo Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard.

The Hammers have been languishing in the bottom end of the table for most of the season, but they are currently four points clear of the relegation places.

According to The Independent, David Moyes is keen on improving the squad in the next transfer window and he is considering the services of Jones and Lingard from his former employers.

However, it is added that a deal for either player won't be straightforward. Jones has more than three years remaining on his contract with United and he won't come on the cheap for the east London outfit.

Meanwhile, Lingard has already entered the final year of his deal with the Red Devils, but the club have the option to extend his stay for another 12 months.

He has been out of contention for a starting role since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January, but he is said to be determined to fight for his future at the club.
