Chelsea to land German attacker for an initial £72m
Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign German attacker Kai Havertz.
The Blues have been fancied to sign the 21-year-old over a number of weeks and they have finally sorted out the transfer fee with the German side.
Leverkusen have been reluctant to accept anything less than £90m for their player, but they have now agreed an initial £72m with £18m in add-ons.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is on the verge of completion with Leverkusen currently going through the necessary paperwork.
Havertz has already agreed personal terms over a five-year contract with the Blues and reports claim he could earn more than £200,000-a-week.
He is set to become the club's third major signing of the summer transfer window after the purchases of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
The west London giants could make another two signings in quick succession with deals for Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva on the verge of completion.
