Tomori wanted by Everton on loan

Everton have enquired Chelsea over the availability of defender Fikayo Tomori, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Merseyside outfit have bolstered their midfield with the purchases of Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez and they are now likely to focus on strengthening the central defensive department.

A recent report from The Athletic revealed that the Toffees are looking into a loan deal for Tomori and Romano has confirmed the same through his official Twitter account.

Tomori started the previous season as a regular in the starting lineup for the Blues, but he dropped down the selection order with Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen all favoured ahead of him.

With the arrival of Thiago Silva on a free transfer, his chances of game time have further reduced and it appears that the Blues are open to sanctioning his departure on a temporary basis.

Zouma managed to impress on loan at Goodison Park during the 2018/19 campaign and the Toffees are now keen on landing Tomori with the assurance of a starting spot.
