Olivier Giroud makes Chelsea transfer decision
France international Olivier Giroud has no plans of leaving Chelsea despite the interest from Juventus.
The 33-year-old is currently contracted with the Blues until the summer of 2021, but his future has been speculated after the recent arrival of Timo Werner.
Werner could find himself leading the line next season, but Standard Sport claims that the former Arsenal man is prepared to fight for his Blues future rather than pursuing a fresh challenge.
Giroud started the previous season as the third-choice striker behind Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi. However, he managed to jump ahead of both in the pecking order during the backend of the campaign.
With the signing of Werner, his chances of starting upfront may be reduced, but reports suggest that he is committed to the club on and off the playing field as a senior squad member.
The Blues start the 2020/21 Premier League season with an away trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night. Werner and Kai Havertz are expected to make their competitive debuts.
