Atletico Madrid have reportedly informed Arsenal that they won't consider the sale of Thomas Partey unless his £45m release clause is paid in full.

The Gunners are keen on making a couple of signings before the deadline and Partey is regarded as one of the top targets alongside Houssem Aouar.

According to The Athletic, the north London side are still interested in the Ghana international, but their chances of signing him are slim.

The capital outfit are currently in the process of recouping funds from player sales, but they could still struggle to meet the demands of Atletico.

The Spanish outfit are reluctant to part ways with Partey and won't sanction his sale unless the Gunners pay the release clause fee in one go.

Arsenal have made three signings in the form of Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes and Dani Ceballos this summer.

Aside from Partey, they are hot on the trail of Aouar from Lyon and have reportedly failed with an opening bid of around £32m.
