Antonio Rudiger tried everything to leave Chelsea - Joachim Loew
Germany head coach Joachim Loew has revealed that Antonio Rudiger tried everything to leave Chelsea before the international transfer deadline.
The centre-back has completely fallen out-of-favour under Frank Lampard this term and he has yet to play a single minute for the Blues.
He was heavily linked with a possible loan move to either Tottenham Hotspur or Paris Saint-Germain, but a deal failed to materialise before the deadline.
Speaking to reporters, Loew has now revealed that Rudiger had tried his best to leave the Blues, but he was unsuccessful in doing so.
He added that the defender is desperate to keep his spot for Euro 2020 and will make a fresh attempt to leave the Blues in January.
"He tried everything to leave Chelsea because the European Championship is very important to him. I think he'll try to leave again in the winter. He's doing everything he can to stay in his best form," He told.
Rudiger is currently the fifth-choice centre-back at the Blues. He is behind Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori in the pecking order.
