Crystal Palace planning record bid for Manchester United target
Crystal Palace are reportedly prepared to shatter their transfer record as they seek to sign Ismaila Sarr from Watford before the domestic transfer deadline.
Manchester United were looking to recruit Sarr before the international transfer deadline last week, but they were put off by the Hornets' £40m asking price.
The Red Devils have since registered their squad for the Champions League and reports claim that they are unlikely to make a fresh approach.
It is now revealed by The Sun that the Eagles are weighing up a late move for Sarr and they are prepared to pay a club-record sum of £30m.
However, the offer is expected to be snubbed by the Hornets, who are adamant that Sarr won't be sold for anything less than £40m this summer.
The Eagles have earmarked Brentford winger Said Benrahma as the possible alternative, but they are behind West Ham United in the race.
The Hammers are in advanced negotiations with the Bees for the Algerian and reports claim they are close to signing him for around £25m.
