Chelsea made hefty demands to loan out German defender
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly put off from signing Antonio Rudiger on loan after learning of Chelsea's demands.
Rudiger was fancied to head through the exit door before the summer transfer deadline and he was linked with potential loan moves to the above-mentioned sides.
However, none of those teams made the approach to sign him and The Athletic reveals that the Blues' demands put them off from securing his signature.
The west London giants wanted the player's £7.5m-per-year wages to be paid in full and on top of this, they demanded a loan fee of around £5m for the Germany international.
Rudiger has yet to represent the Blues in any competition this season, but manager Frank Lampard has left the door open for his possible comeback.
As things stand, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori are ahead of him in the pecking order for the central defensive spots.
