Arsenal provide fresh update on Thomas Partey's thigh injury
Arsenal have confirmed that midfielder Thomas Partey won't be fit for the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
The Ghana international was substituted midway through the 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa this month after sustaining a thigh injury.
It has been more than four weeks since the setback, but he is still under rehabilitation and has yet to return to regular training.
"Thomas is progressing with his rehabilitation ahead of returning to full training," a statement on the club's official website read.
In the absence of Partey, manager Mikel Arteta may choose between Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos and Mohamed Elneny for the two midfield spots.
Xhaka and Ceballos may be the likely starters ahead of Elneny, who has just returned to training after recovering from the coronavirus.
Arsenal are currently placed 14th in the league standings. They are eight points behind leaders Liverpool with a game in hand.
They will be eyeing their first league win in three games when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
