Predicted Manchester United lineup vs Manchester City

Manchester United are scheduled to host Manchester City in the 183rd Manchester derby on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils have won their previous four league games, but they are coming off a disappointing 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League which saw them eliminated from the competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently seventh in the league standings with 19 points on the board and they have the chance to move into the top four with a victory this evening.

Formation: 4-3-1-2

Predicted Lineup:

David de Gea has been the regular in goal this season despite the emergence of Dean Henderson. There have been calls for the Spaniard to be dropped, but that is unlikely to happen.

In the defence, it should be the same combination from the previous matchday. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles should continue in the right and left-back roles while Victor Lindelof is expected to accompany Harry Maguire in the central defence.

In the centre of the park, Solskjaer may go with defensive-minded options to curb the Cityzens' creative threat. We could see Scott McTominay feature alongside Nemanja Matic and Fred, who stood out in their Manchester derby victories last season.

Bruno Fernandes has been by far United's best creative player with six goals and 11 assists this term. He is expected to feature in his regular attacking midfield role.

Upfront, Marcus Rashford could be partnered by Anthony Martial, who is back after a minor niggle. The latter has scored in three of the previous four Manchester derbies in the Premier League.

Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-3-1-2): David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles; Nemanja Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay; Bruno Fernandes; Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial
