Lazio want Mustafi

Lazio are reportedly looking at the possibility of signing Shkodran Mustafi from Arsenal during the current transfer window.

Mustafi has barely featured in the Premier League this term and he has managed only 534 minutes across all competitions.

With under six months left on his contract, he is free to speak with foreign sides and Lazio are hopeful of landing him this month.

According to Football.London, Lazio's director of football Igli Tare has made contact with the Gunners regarding a possible move for Mustafi.

The north London side recently terminated the contract of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, but they are reluctant to do the same with Mustafi.

Instead, they are prepared to accept a cut-price fee of around £5m, if there are any clubs interested in signing him this month.

Mustafi has made only three league appearances for the Gunners this term where he has been restricted to only 43 minutes.

He is currently down the pecking order with Rob Holding, David Luiz, Gabriel and Pablo Mari ahead of him for the central defensive roles.
