Jurgen Klopp provides injury update on Henderson and Matip

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that both Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip trained with the squad ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Henderson missed the recent FA Cup fourth round defeat at Manchester United due to a minor fitness issue while Klopp decided against risking Matip, who had just recovered from an adductor problem.

Both players have returned to the training field ahead of the Spurs clash and Klopp has said that a late fitness test may determine their involvement on Thursday night.

"Hendo and Joel trained yesterday with the team fully. Like always with these things we have to see how they react overnight and what they can do today, but they trained yesterday," He told the club's official website.

The Reds have been in a dreadful run of form and they have picked up only three points from the last five matches. That sees them already seven points behind leaders Manchester City.

They are scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspur on the road on Thursday and need to pick up a victory to leapfrog West Ham United into the final Champions League spot.
