Chelsea to cool down pursuit of Jules Kounde?
Chelsea could reportedly shelve their plans to sign Jules Kounde after the emergence of Trevoh Chalobah.
The Blues have been heavily linked with the Sevilla star, but they are yet to meet the £61m release clause on his contract.
The club recently proposed to sign him in a part-exchange deal involving Kurt Zouma, but Sevilla snubbed the offer.
Since then, Chalobah has made a huge impression for the Blues at the heart of the defence with several standout displays.
He was superb against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in pre-season, and has carried over his form into the new season.
Chalobah was excellent against Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday. The match was his first ever in the Blues' shirt.
He made his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace yesterday. He capped the performance with a superb long-range goal.
According to football.london, the Blues are seriously re-considering their plans, and may cool down their interest in Kounde.
