Arsenal readying fresh bid for 23-year-old goalkeeper

Aaron Ramsdale news

Arsenal reopen talks for Ramsdale

Arsenal are planning a fresh move to sign goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after receiving encouragement from Sheffield United.

The Gunners have been fancied to sign Ramsdale throughout the summer, but talks recently broke down due to the price tag.

Sheffield made it clear that they wanted at least £34m up front, and that meant that the Gunners cooled their transfer pursuit.

It is now reported that the north London club have revived negotiations with the Blades willing to accept a reduced fee.

Ramsdale is obviously desperate to join the Gunners. The Blades are willing to accept the Gunners' offer of £24m plus add-ons.

The 23-year-old could play as the back-up goalkeeper to Bernd Leno. He is seen as a future number one of the club.

Leno has entered the final two years of his contract. The Gunners could sanction his sale at the end of the campaign.

Arsenal have made just three signings in Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White during the transfer window.
