Mbappe top of Man City's January transfer wish list
Reports have emerged today that Man City could make a shock January transfer window move for Kylian Mbappe. The PSG striker admitted that he wanted to leave the French side last summer.
Real Madrid had two bids rejected for the 22-year-old in August, and Mbappe was apparently disappointed that PSG refused to let him leave the French capital.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, it now appears to be the turn of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City to make a move for the World Cup winning forward.
It is understood that City's pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane has drawn to a close, and Guardiola is now considering a move for Mbappe instead.
When asked about last summer's potential move to Madrid, Mbappe quipped: "I asked to leave, because from the moment I did not want to extend, I wanted the club to have a transfer fee to have a quality replacement."I announced it early enough that the club can turn around. I wanted everyone to come out grown up, to leave hand in hand, to make a good deal, and I respected that. I said: 'If you don't want me to leave, I will stay'."
"People said I turned down six or seven extension offers, that I don't want to talk to [sporting director] Leonardo anymore, that's absolutely not true."
Man City will reportedly table a 150 million euro bid for the striker.
