Arsenal midfielder set for Serie A move?
Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles will reportedly make the move to Roma in the next 48 hours.
The England international is eager to leave the Gunners this month amid his lack of regular first-team football.
Roma have already lodged a loan approach, and ESPN claims that he could be granted permission to join them soon.
The Gunners are currently without Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny due to African Cup of Nations commitments.
This leaves them with Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga as the senior midfielders apart from Maitland-Niles.
Despite this, it appears they are prepared to sanction a loan deal. The agreement won't include any buy option.
Should the loan move go through, it won't come as a surprise if the Gunners land a replacement within a short notice.
They have been heavily linked with Lille's Renato Sanches, who could be available for around £35 million this month.
Paris Saint-Germain's Georginio Wijnaldum could also be another suitable target. He could be prised away on a temporary deal.
