Arsenal yet to make approach for Bundesliga midfielder
Arsenal have yet to make an approach to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
The Swiss has entered the final six months of his Monchengladbach contract, and he has made it clear that he won't extend his stay.
The Bundesliga outfit are open to selling him this month. A recent report claimed that the Gunners could land him for just £5.8m.
However, according to Bild, the Gunners have yet to make any sort of contact for the player despite their long-term interest.
Juventus and Bayern Munich are reportedly the front-runners to sign him while Manchester United have also been linked.
The Gunners are expected to enter the market for a new midfielder this month with Ainsley Maitland-Niles set to be loaned out.
He is on his way to Roma. This leaves the Gunners with only Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga as the specialist senior midfielders.
Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny could miss the entire month of January amid their African Cup of Nations duty with Ghana and Egypt.
