Liverpool have clear stance on January transfer window

Liverpool don't plan to make January signings

Liverpool's hierarchy are not planning to spend on any new players during the ongoing winter transfer window.

The Reds are missing several players at the moment. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita have left for the African Cup of Nations.

Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Joel Matip are Covid-19 positive while Nat Phillips, Harvey Elliott, Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino and Thiago Alcantara are all injured.

Despite the first-team crisis, the board do not plan to bring in new players. Liverpool Echo claims that manager Jurgen Klopp is also content to stick with the squad.

He is prepared to utilise some of the academy players if required, but there are no plans to make any rushed additions to the squad midway through the current campaign.

Liverpool face Arsenal on the road in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday. It is unclear whether the game will go as planned. The Reds have requested for postponement.
