Man Utd determined to sign 24-year-old midfielder

Ruben Neves news

Neves to Man Utd?

Manchester United are reportedly determined to land the signature of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese has established himself as one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League, and he has been tipped to join a bigger club.

The 24-year-old has turned down a new deal beyond June 2024, and reports claim that he could be sold for the right price this month.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are keen on landing his services following his stand-out showing against them earlier this week.

They are ready to pay around £35m for his signature, but Wolves are likely to demand at least £40m up front for the Portugal international.

United want to sign a new defensive midfielder this month with Ralf Rangnick not pleased with recent displays of Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic.

Neves is their prime transfer target, but it is unclear whether Rangnick is interested. The German could prefer a new signing from the Bundesliga.
