Chelsea manager desperate for January signing?
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly eyeing at least one signing during the ongoing transfer window.
The Blues are currently short in the wing-back department with Ben Chilwell and Reece James on the sidelines with injuries.
Chilwell has been ruled out for the remaining campaign, and the Blues may look for an option on the left side of defence.
According to ESPN, Tuchel is eyeing a potential replacement for Chilwell, but the Blues are not close to signing anyone.
They had opened talks with Everton for Lucas Digne earlier this month, but he ended up joining Aston Villa permanently.
The west London giants preferred a loan deal instead. Meanwhile, the Blues have failed in their attempts to recall Emerson.
Emerson joined Lyon on loan with an option to buy last summer. Les Gones have no plans of terminating his deal this month.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues can pursue a new signing. Marcos Alonso is currently the regular at left wing-back.
Kenedy was recently recalled from his loan spell at Flamengo in order to fill the void left by the long-term absence of Chilwell.
