Ralf Rangnick confirms Man Utd duo won't face Watford
Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay are out of contention to face Watford.
The Red Devils have been without Cavani for the past few games with a groin problem. The Uruguayan has yet to return to training.
Meanwhile, Scott McTominay missed the recent European trip to Atletico Madrid after he was sidelined with a non-Covid illness.
Ahead of tomorrow's Premier League game against Watford, Rangnick has confirmed that the duo are 'unavailable' for selection.
Their absence may not be a big blow for the club. Fred, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic will share midfield duties with McTominay out.
Rangnick was particularly impressed with Matic's impact in midweek. The Serbian could make his first league start in seven matches.
Elsewhere, Cavani has always been a back-up striker to Cristiano Ronaldo this term. Marcus Rashford can play up front if required.
Manchester United are currently fourth in the standings with 46 points, but Arsenal are just one point behind with two matches in hand.
