Arsenal in the mix for Raphinha?

Raphinha tracked by Arsenal

Arsenal have joined Barcelona in the pursuit of Leeds United attacker Raphinha, Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Gunners are currently loaded with wide attacking options with the presence of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe and Nicolas Pepe.

However, Pepe has been fancied to leave. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta may also want more competition for places ahead of the club's potential return to European football.

According to Romano, Barcelona are leading the pursuit of Raphinha, but the Gunners are also keeping tabs. The north London giants have 'asked for information' on him.

Barcelona recently failed with a €30 million bid for the Brazilian. They are now willing to offer €40m up front with a further €10m in performance based add-ons.

It has been reported that Leeds may demand up to €75m for him. Meanwhile, Raphinha could be available for just €25m if the Whites are relegated.

Arsenal are keen on pursuing at least two forwards this summer. Over the past few days, it has been claimed that they are favourites to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV.
