Arsenal handed double injury blow ahead of Newcastle trip
Arsenal have been handed a double injury blow with Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes absent from first-team training on Sunday.
The Gunners suffered a bitter blow at Tottenham Hotspur in midweek with Rob Holding picking up a red card while Gabriel sustained a muscle injury.
Gabriel is now facing a race against time to make the game and the same appears the case for White, who is nursing a minor hamstring problem.
According to football.london, both centre-backs were missing in Sunday's training session and are big doubts for Monday's visit of Newcastle.
The Gunners go into the game with just one fit centre-back in Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has largely played at right-back since joining the club.
Granit Xhaka has played at the heart of the defence in the past, and the Swiss could be called upon to partner the Japan international tomorrow.
The Gunners must beat Newcastle on the road to reclaim their fourth spot in the league. Else, their Champions League destiny won't be in their hands.
