Todd Boehly ready to fund a transfer for Matthijs de Ligt
The new owner of the London club, Todd Boehly, is ready to fund a move for Matthijs de Ligt if Thomas Tuchel decides that he wants him.
Antonio Rudiger already left Chelsea to join Real Madrid and with Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christiansen rumoured to be close to joining Barcelona, Chelsea will need to make some big moves to rebuild the defence in the summer. The rebuild of Chelsea's defence will probably start with Jules Kounde, who is expected to be confirmed as a Chelsea player in the following weeks.
To add to that, Chelsea has gained a growing interest in De Ligt. The Dutchman has hesitated to sign a new deal with Juventus as he struggled to become a consistent first-team player because of the competition of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
The only setback here is that the current asking price for De Ligt is £100 million. That is a very high fee considering Chelsea is ready to spend big money for players in the midfield and attack.
