Tottenham make late move for Memphis Depay
Tottenham have made a last ditch offer to sign Memphis Depay from under the noses of Juventus, with Spurs' director of football Fabio Paratici contacting the Dutchman's agent with regards to a potential return to the Premier League. Depay is likely to leave Barcelona after just two years on a free transfer, and Juventus have already made a generous offer to the Netherlands international forward.
Spurs are ready to make am ambitious move to sign Depay, with a reported pay package of £250,000 a week for the Dutchman to return to England. After a disappointing spell with Man Utd, Depay would move to French club Lyon and have five excellent seasons with the Ligue 1 side, prior to a dream move to Barcelona in Spain.
Things haven't gone so well in La Liga though, and Depay is now set for an exit as his current club are unable to register their two new players, and a further third set to arrive this week in Marcos Alonso.
Tottenham already have a wealth of attacking talent from which to choose, but Depay would certainly provide ample replacement for Steven Bergwijn, who left White Hart Lane last month.
