Renan Lodi on Man City radar

Man City manager Pep Guardiola has made a last ditch effort to sign Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi from Atletico Madrid, as the Cityzens look to shore up their defensive backline with a new acquisition. After missing out on Marc Cucurella, Guardiola is on the lookout for a full-back and is expected to wrap up a deal for Sergio Gomez shortly.

It appeared that Lodi would stay put at Atleti after having talks with manager Diego Simeone, but now the La Liga giants are ready to part company with the former Athletico Paranaense player after reciving a sufficient offer from Manchester City.

It is understood that City have tabled a bid of 40 million euros and are offering a five year deal to the Brazilian, who has 15 caps for his country.

A report from Marca journalist Pascual Ruiz yesterday suggested that the 24-year-old is City's remaining target this summer.

Left sided defender Raphael Guerreiro had been a name linked with City but the club have instead decide to make a move for the Atletico Madrid defender.
