Arsenal identify Pedro Neto as top attacking target
Arsenal have earmarked Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Pedro Neto as their top attacking target.
The Gunners are determined to land a right-sided winger before the transfer deadline, and Neto is now regarded as the priority.
According to The Athletic, talks have been ongoing between Arsenal and Neto's agent Jorge Mendes over the past four weeks.
Mendes has also been in constant contact with Wolves, but it may take a significant bid to prise Neto away from the Midlands side.
The Portuguese only signed a new long-term deal earlier this year, and his contract does not conclude until the summer of 2027.
Wolves are likely to hold out for a package of around £50-60m and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners pay the fee.
With possible Financial Fair Play constraints, the Gunners are wary of spending big as they are also eyeing a new midfielder.
Leicester City's Youri Tielemans is obviously the prime target for that role, and he could be signed prior to the transfer deadline.
