Arsenal manager confirms fresh injury blow
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Emile Smith Rowe won't be available to face FC Zurich tomorrow.
The Gunners start their Europa League campaign against Zurich on the road, and ahead of the game, they have suffered a fresh setback.
Smith Rowe was struggling with an injury during a warm-down session on Sunday, and Arteta has now confirmed his absence.
Speaking in today's late press conference, Arteta revealed that Smith Rowe has been struggling with a groin issue and has not travelled.
Aside from the Gunners graduate, Arsenal are without Reiss Nelson, Mohamed Elneny, Thomas Partey and Cedric Soares for the game.
Elneny and Nelson are long-term absentees but Partey has been touted to make his comeback before the September international break.
Meanwhile, Cedric's injury has come out of the blue, considering he has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this campaign.
He was an unused substitute last weekend and may have sustained the injury in the lead-up to tomorrow's Europa League group stage opener.
