Nico Gonzalez set for Leicester City move?
Leicester City are tracking Argentina international forward Nico Gonzalez in a £40 million deal from Serie A giants Fiorentina. Gonzalez did not make the cut for Argentina's World Cup winning squad having sustained an injury three days prior to the tournament, but is still considered a very important member of the country's international setup.
Brendan Rodgers is desperate to sign new players after a very poor spell of form for the Foxes, which was seen in yesterday's dismal performance against Newcastle United in the FA Cup. Leicester's goalscoring woes continue, despite having the strong attack containing Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Rodgers believes that part of the reason for the club's attacking woes is a lack of creative midfielders, and Nico Gonzalez is seen as an excellent creative player who can also contribute in the goalscoring department.
The player previously had a spell in the Bundesliga with German club VfB Stuttgart, before a move to Italy with the Viola followed.
It is understood that the player is looking for a contract worth around £80,000 to move to England, doubling his salary in Serie A.
