Manchester United are ready to release Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe when their contracts expire this summer.

Jones has been troubled by knee injuries over the past few years and he no longer has a future with the club.

He has not been involved in training since pre-season and ESPN confirm that he will be released in the summer.

Meanwhile, Axel Tuanzebe has also had an injury-plagued career and he is currently on a short-term loan at Stoke City.

The defender is presently contracted to United until June 2023 with an option for another 12 months if required.

United are unlikely to trigger the clause and are prepared to release him following the conclusion of this campaign.

The Red Devils are planning a big summer ahead but the initial focus will be on offloading some of the unwanted players.

The club have one of the highest wage bills in the division and are determined to reduce it during the summer.
