Man Utd handed fresh injury concern for Newcastle clash

Sabitzer doubtful for Newcastle game

Manchester United have been handed a fresh injury concern ahead of their Premier League clash against Newcastle United this weekend.

The Red Devils have been hampered by numerous injuries this term and they are currently without Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial and Christian Eriksen.

It is now reported that the club could have another potential issue with Marcel Sabitzer picking up a knee injury on international duty for Austria last week.

The midfielder sustained the blow during the 4-1 win over Azerbaijan and he subsequently missed training in the lead-up to the Estonia game.

Sabitzer was on the bench for the encounter last night, but manager Ralf Rangnick decided against playing him for the entire 90 minutes.

This raises doubts over the midfielder's fitness and United will be hoping that he will be fit ahead of Sunday's game at St James' Park.

With Casemiro suspended, Fred, Scott McTominay and Sabitzer are the only senior central midfield options for the manager to rely on.
