Arsenal manager confident of landing Premier League star
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly confident of landing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.
The Gunners boss has been a firm admirer of the England international and The Mirror claim that a transfer bid is imminent.
Arteta is planning to hold talks with Rice when the season ends and the Gunners will then proceed with a formal offer.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with him, but Arsenal look clear favourites after Champions League qualification.
West Ham United are likely to demand close to £80 million for the 24-year-old, who has his sights on a bigger challenge elsewhere.
Rice has been fully committed to the Hammers over the years but he is now keen on winning trophies in the prime of his career.
The arrival of Rice could coincide with the departure of Albert Sambi Lokonga. Granit Xhaka could also head for the exit door.
Xhaka has been a key player from the number eight position but there are claims that Arteta could play Rice in the role next season.
