Everton make bid for Che Adams
Everton hope to secure a £15 million transfer to sign Southampton striker Che Adams before the transfer window slams shut at the end of August. Everton are firm favourites to sign the attacker, and are already locked in talks with the Saints to complete a deal this week.
Sean Dyche, the Everton manager, has admitted that he needs to add strength in depth to his attack. Adams appears to have told the Southampton club hierarchy that he wants to play in the Premier League this season, and will force through a transfer to the Toffees if possible.
Neal Maupay has struggled to score the goals the Everton team desperately need, and an injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn't helped Dyche's plans. So far this summer, the arrivals of Jack Harrison, Ashley Young, Arnaut Danjuma and Youssef Chermiti haven't brought the goals needed, and Che Adams could be the player that reverses Everton's fortunes.
Everton sunk to a 4-0 defeat against Unai Emery's Aston Villa last weekend, and the club's team left the pitch to a chorus of boos from the travelling Toffees supporters.
