Arsenal handed defensive injury blow ahead of Fulham game
Arsenal have been handed a fresh defensive injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.
The Gunners have suffered plenty of defensive and attacking injuries this campaign. They are presently without Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Takehiro Tomiyasu for the rest of the season.
Speaking in today's presser, manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Riccardo Calafiori picked up a fresh knee injury on international duty with Italy.
The setback is not serious, but the left-back will be sidelined for a few weeks at least. Calafiori looks set to miss the league games against Fulham and Everton.
The former Bologna man is also expected to miss both legs of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid next month.
Despite his absence, Arsenal are well covered in the left-back department. Myles Lewis-Skelly has been a revelation since his breakthrough.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney and Jakub Kiwior can also operate from the left side of the back four when required by the manager.
