Gerrard injured, Liverpool worries

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard got himself injured in the FA Cup clash against Everton. He will be out for three weeks.
Steven Gerrard's injury adds worry to Liverpool, it now leaves Fernando Torres as the lone striker. Gerrard had always been a strong supporting striker to the Spaniard and helped him score many goals.
Rafael Benitez has less options upfront, the other front man, Robbie Keane has just left the club. Keane's departure is the most talked about one in the Premier League, Rafael Benitez believes Ngog has the ability to replace him.
Liverpool fans have a lot to worry as Man Utd have clinched the top spot and it looks hard to beat Chelsea. Both the teams have added quality players to their squad in January, however, Liverpool has not bought any player.
The Reds have Dirk Kuyt, Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun - all attackers and goal scorers, but, the question will be, who would do the support strikers role?
Babel and Benayoun are mostly used as wingers and Dirk Kuyt has played in many positions including right mid, attacking mid and striker. But, he is neither a "goal getter" nor a "target man". Liverpool would be forced to use young striker Ngog who does not have the wealth of experience that Gerrard or Keane has.
Moreover, Gerrard's absence in the midfield will put more pressure on Xabi Alonso - a more defensive minded player - to play an attacking role.
Liverpool will play Real Madrid in the first leg of the champions league on February 25 and it seems that Gerrard would miss it. That would be a heavy blow for the Red fans.
