Anders Lindegaard on Stoke City's radar

07 December 2013 - 05:16

Manchester United's backup goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has been linked with a transfer to Stoke City, but only if Asmir Begovic is sold during the January transfer window. Bosnia international Begovic has been linked with a number of top European sides.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • 29-year-old striker Lindegaard has struggled to force his way into Manchester United's first team and David De Gea remains David Moyes' first choice keeper. Lindegaard is now considering a move away from Old Trafford and the link to Stoke City will be of major interest for the Dane.

West Ham were amongst the teams interested in Lindegaard's signature but it appears that Stoke manager Mark Hughes is the new favourite to secure the keeper's signing as he frantically searches for an eventual replacement for Begovic. Despite having Jack Butland on the books, Hughes is also unsure if Butland is the right man for the #1 spot at Stoke.
