Tammy Abraham - wanted by Arsenal and AS Roma

Arsenal lead the way in Tammy Abraham hunt

10 August 2021 - 15:03

Arsenal appear to have edged closer to a deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, after trumping Roma's most recent bid for the forward. Abraham is reportedly keen to stay in England.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Galatasaray, Salah starts

  • AS Roma's newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho is hoping to sign Tammy Abraham as a long-term successor for Edin Dzeko. Abraham appears to have fallen even further down the striker pecking order at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel, thus leading the way for a summer departure for the striker.

Arsenal, who could still allow striking duo Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette leave the club this month, are said to be huge admirers of Abraham and are ready to pay a cash only offer, in stark comparison to AS Roma's reported 6 million euro cash payment plus 25 million over three years.

Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, is said to want to receive the highest bid possible for the striker but would prefer not to sell Abraham to a Premier League rival. That being said, Arsenal and Chelsea have negotiated multiple transfers between each other over the last 10 years or more and the Gunners manager Mikel Arteta hopes that the two club's relationship will help steer Tammy closer to an Arsenal transfer.
