Arsenal unlikely to sign Giroud replacement

Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger has refused to jump in the transfer market for a striker, after first choice forward Olivier Giroud faces the threat of being side-lined for a few months due to injury.
The 27-year-old, who came off the bench against Everton to score in the 90th minute, picked up an ankle injury in the dying seconds of the game, and could now be out of action for the next two to three months.
The player has been ruled out of tonight’s Champions League clash against Besiktas, and was supposed to undergo a scan today to determine the extent of the injury. But it is being feared that the French international might have a broken ankle which would keep him off the field until the next year.
But according to reports in the BBC, the French manager is in no mood to sign any replacements before the window closes on 1st September, and plans to stick with Alexis Sanchez, Joel Campbell, Lukas Podolski, Yaya Sanogo and Theo Walcott up front.
